Australia’s first vegan pub offers cheeky twist on high tea
Bhavani Bauman first made headlines in May when she transformed The Chippendale Hotel in Sydney, affectionately known as The Chippo in Australia’s first all-vegan pub.
She is once again attracting attention by launching a limited edition low-tea vegan tea menu, offering a playful twist on the classic afternoon tea.
The menu will feature vegan classics including mini pies, sausages, Aussie burgers and lamington pavlos.

Sydneysiders can also look forward to jaffles, scones with strawberry shiraz gin jam, caramel slices, cheese rolls and cheese toasties on baked beans.
For Bauman, who also owns Mama B’s, the bistro next door, finding new, exciting ways to bring communities together and celebrate great vegan food is important.
“The Low Tea menu is a playful twist on traditional afternoon teas, offering a fun, relaxed, indulgent alternative… and created with only the most iconic Australian food and pub grub,” she told 7NEWS.com.au.
The limited edition menu is available for $65 on Saturdays and Sundays for the month of June.
For extra-thirsty customers, you can also opt for a $95 boozy option featuring cocktail kettles and bottomless mimosas.
Cocktails include Hard Peach Iced Tea and Hot Toddy Tea.
They can also be replaced with mocktails.
It is essential to A book as the delicious experience offers only two sessions – 1.30pm and 5.30pm.
