Two men charged after alleged road rage incident in Sydney’s west

Two men have been charged for their roles in an alleged road accident in Sydney’s west earlier this year.

A 25-year-old man was driving along Yerrick Road in Lakemba when a Toyota Corolla reversed out of the driveway, allegedly cutting him off in traffic at around 5pm on April 5.

The driver of the Toyota later allegedly cut off the other man in traffic again, stopping his car in the road and pulling out a knife.

Police said the man rushed to the window of the other car that drove off, allegedly hitting the Toyota.

Police said the Toyota followed the other car through surrounding streets.

After weeks of investigation, police this morning arrested a 27-year-old man at a home in Granville.

He was charged with a series of driving offences, including knowingly driving in a threatening manner, reckless and furious driving and using an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The 27-year-old was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.

The 32-year-old man, who is said to be the owner of the Toyota, was arrested a few days ago at Campsea Police Station on Thursday, June 6.

He is not believed to have been in the car at the time but has been charged with dealing in motor vehicles without a license and failing to disclose the identity of the driver of the car.

He was granted bail and will appear at Bankstown Local Court next month.
