Two more tourists missing on Greek islands Amorgos and Samos as heatwave grips country
Two tourists, one from the United States and one from the Netherlands, have gone missing while hiking separately Greeceauthorities in the Mediterranean country revealed.
News of the disappearance comes just days after the body of British TV doctor Michael Moseley was found after disappearing on his way in high temperatures on the Greek island of Symi.
A 59-year-old American man named Albert Calibet went missing on Amorgos Island on Tuesday while following a route to the village of Katapola, the Amorgos Municipality said.

Poppy Despotidi, Amorgos’ deputy mayor for tourism, told CNN on Thursday that Calibet has been coming “to Amorgos almost every year” for about a decade.
And on the island of Samos, a 74-year-old Dutch tourist has been missing since Sunday, with a major search and rescue operation underway, authorities said.
The man went hiking in the Marathokampou area of the island, the Greek Samos rescue team said on Wednesday.
Local residents are helping in the search, they added from there.
Constantia Dimoglidou, a Greek police spokeswoman, told CNN on Thursday that “police, fire and volunteers are involved in the search, including by air,” for the two men.
“Unfortunately, we have no news on either of them so far,” she added.
Moseley, a TV doctor who promotes a type of intermittent fasting known as the 5:2 diet, was reported missing by his wife after he did not return from a walk on the island. It took several days for his body to be found.
Greece is suffering a massive heatwave that looks set to peak on Thursday, according to the Greek National Meteorological Service, which has issued an orange heat warning – the second most serious designation.
